Los Huemules is a private reserve focused on conservation. It´s wild beauty and a bit off the beaten track make it a trekker’s paradise where you can find treks available for all levels.
This program offers two full days in this heavenly environment, with the comfort of a refuge to spend the night in front of the Cagliero glacier.
We recommend trekking here if you want to escape from the crowds at the highlight locations of the National Park.
Early in the morning, a transfer will pick you up together with your guide, to take you from your accommodation in El Chaltén to Estancia Los Huemules (approx. 20 km out of town).
At the visitor´s center you will find interesting information about the reserve and a map with the different possible trails to discover in the area.
On the first day you will walk for around 3 hours on mostly flat terrain to reach Puesto Cagliero, a mountain refuge where you can see the Cagliero Glacier and Laguna del Diablo, and where you will spend the night.
With your guide you will decide which trails you fancy doing in order to make the most of the day and the weather.
After a great day outdoors you will be returning to your cottage, to enjoy a delicious dinner washed down with a glass of Argentine wine and a good rests night.
